The first field trip (reconnaissance and prospecting) of the Croatian REEBAUX team took place on April 17, 2019. Localities in the Dalmatian inland were visited and first samples collected within WP2 activities. Some of the localities will be also visited during the student workshop in October this year.
Field trip Hungary – April 2019
Joint filed trip of ELTE and University of Miskolc project team members and students took place betwen April 8-10, 2019. Four abandoned bauxite mines (Óbarok, Gánt, Darvastó, Iharkút) and two partially re-cultivated red mud storage areas (Almásfüzítő and Ajka) were visited within WP4 activities. The visited areas were thoroughly examined for sampling (WP2 and WP3 activities), including the discussion with the owners of red mud storages.
REEBAUX Initial Meeting 2019
REEBAUX inital meeting in 2019 took place at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science. on February 15, 2019. The partners met to discuss the project tasks planned in 2019. The meeting was a success since all the project partners managed to gather and discuss the forthcoming project activities in 2019; new data collection, organisation of field prospecting, sample analyses, estabilishing contacts to local stakeholders as well as inclusion of student population in project activities and organisation of student workshop and field trip in early autumn were the topics addressed.
REEBAUX Kick-off meeting
The project kick-off meeting was held on September 28, 2018. The meeting took place at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Science (Department of Geology). It was an exciting occasion for the entire team to gather and discuss all the project affairs at the moment as well as to look into the plans for the next year.
Video Conference – pre-kick-off meeting
REEBAUX pre-kick-off meeting video conference was held on June 26, 2018 to discuss project major acitivities in 2018. The project major task of the year – collection of data on the bauxite-related resources in the ESEE region – was given the time frame within the annual project schedule as well as the exact data items to be collected.
REEBAUX starting soon
REEBAUX project (Prospects of REE recovery from bauxite and bauxite residue in the ESEE region) is to commence its activities in 2018. The project was approved within EIT KIC Raw Materials call 2017 in the category of RIS projects and gathers partners from Austria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Montenegro and Slovenia.
